A straight reply to this may not be that straightforward. Education changes perception. It is education that teaches that Mythology and the History of religion are not the same.
What is education?
The English word EDUCATION comes from Sanskrit ADI KARYA आदि कार्य via Latin Edicere – meaning is a process of developing the capability of understanding. Thus education may not be only a process of gathering information but also understanding them.
British Theosophist Anne Besant’s adapted son Jiddu Krishnamurti asked “Did man, made God or God made man”? It created ripples in both theosophical and intellectual circles but made no significant dent in belief in God.
We know God came through the stone tablets /books or orally from heaven (another world) which was later explained by various means and modes.
The historical relevance of God becomes clear to an educated person who understands the Philology, Philosophy, Mythology, and History of religion.
My explanation:
Philology:
It is the science of forming a ‘word’ in a language. The more a word has philosophical weightage, the more the meaning and utility of the word.
Philosophy:
It is the mother of science. One thinks and then works on the thought. This work on thought is science.
Abrahamic Books are ordained, close-ended, believe, or face punishment /expulsion/death (in the case of Islam).
Mythology:
Myth is an ancient Celtic word that means a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events which is not true.
Or
A widely held belief or idea that is assumed as false.
Myths in Abrahamic religions and Vedic religions are not the same at all. In Abrahamic, it is a STORY line that MUST be made accepted as TRUE by the followers. Those who do not believe it are Pagan, Kufer, Kefirs, Gentile, and Heathen. Thus stories are to be made in such a way that followers believe.
Saudi Prince Salman thinks that since Hadiths is written 250+ years after the death of the Prophet – it has to be a myth.
Vedic philosophy is an individual’s “thought” (and/ or observation & realization) that was and is open to challenge & debate and there is no compulsion on anyone to believe. Hindu scriptures are a “veiled scientific quest”. Accept or not is up to the consciousness of conscious persons.
When, after centuries of experimentations, someone thought it has to be taken to lay citizens/persons for their wellbeing, to improve understanding, and mental elevation; they felt the need of forming stories around those “Vedic Principles”. Many people of knowledge, made many stories on those PRINCIPLES. That is how Shivaites, Shaktism, Vaishnav, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Lingayet, etc. worship God in ‘formless’ and as well as ‘with form’ without anyone calling the other FALSE.
Therefore certain ingredients of myth have entered here and there but overall it is all about SYMBOLISM like multiple hands, heads, and eyes of our deities and they are not myths.
Note:
From anti-Hindu or hybrid Indian pen pushers to American Indologist Wendy Doniger everyone finds an easy target, MANU SAMHITA /MANUSMRITI to criticize or draw some parallel anti-Women/ Sudra jibes to justify Bible & Quran. Yes, MANU did say that “God” told him this or that before Bible or Quran came into existence but what they do not tell is NO Scripture is a “Stone laden” on Hindu’s head. A scripture’s shelf life is in the hand of followers, not God in heaven or its authors.
History:
The history of Abrahamic religion and communities are different because they are a religion of BOOKs and to prove that the Book is 100% true, they have to compromise with many false definitions.
In India, Vedic Principles were “enshrined” in ITIHASH (means -it so happened or history) in real stories like in Ramayana & Mahabharata, whereas in Puranas, both history and stories have been constructed to carry complicated Vedic Principles to laymen in the mythical style of storytelling.
Thus when I say the word ALLAH is older than the word GOD what I was talking about was “philological” and here is “philosophical” (Vedic) and “Mythological” (Abrahamic Books):
Who is God?
Bhagwat Gita:
Purusha (Energy) in Prakriti (body) is Atma (Soul) and in चराचर Charachara (all-pervading, beyond the body or any bondage) is Paramatma (almighty), the God.
In Vedas:
The Vedas conceptualize Brahman (abstract noun), Brahma (proper noun), and Sat Chit Ananda (adjective) of the Cosmic Principle, the God.
The Bible:
God in Christianity is the eternal being who created and preserves all things. Christians believe God to be both transcendent and immanent.

God the Father is a title given to God in mainstream Trinitarian Christianity, God the Father (Almighty) first person, second person, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and the third person, God the Holy Spirit:

Is it not true that one who believes in “God” does not need to convert some from one brand for nectar to other?
Why despite all sorts of Christian Conversion, in India it is a FAILED project?
(Christians in India: 2.34% in 1871 AD and 2.30% in 2011)
- A follower of Vedic religion lives for improvement of quality of living. While a theocratic Abrahamic lives to convert ,kill or destroy non-believers
• British wanted to loot Wealth and Wisdom. The conversion was just to buy some loyalists through whom their long-term access remains hurdle free.
• To destroy Hinduism they designed education, History, Aryan Invasion Theory, Dravid Movement, Brahma Samaj, Prarthana Samaj, etc.
• Encouraged Muslim demographic explosion.
Education Industry of Church might have weakened Biblical Theocracy in Converts:
St. Teresa on a live TV show says I cannot agree the earth is round or moves around the Sun because The Bible doesn’t say so. But Church education institutes stopped teaching it globally but Islamic Madrassa doesn’t stop.
Scholars believe that higher knowledge dilutes Abrahamic Theocracy through Moh’d Atta, Bin Laden,
Ayman al-Zawahiri etc. proved them wrong.
Can Falsification of facts be a ‘Human right?
There is a great understanding gap between followers of proselytizing religions (PR) (46% population- Pew Research) and others ( 44% including 16 +8 % Vedic religions). Every orthodox/theocratic PR meets a non-believer, they look exactly the way Tom finds a roasted “chicken leg” in Jerry in “Tom & Jerry cartoon” and never like to learn. Whereas the non-PR never have such pre- LOAD on brain and is ever ready to learn.
Do Proselytize Religion (PR) followers believe in God or Book(s):
John Allen Chau, a 27-year-old American who violated Indian Visa rule 7 times before dying in the hand of a 60,000-year-old Sentinelese tribe’s teenager arrow that pierced the Bible he held near his chest in Andaman.
Those who read his blog post (I did) know that he wrote: “I think it’s worth it to declare Jesus to these people” [the Sentinelese]- John Allen Chau. ( a blog post – November 3, 2015).
But still, BBC, NYT, TOI, and NDTV felt a “tourist” had been killed for Govt. not giving enough security.
Falsification cannot have a long shelf life. Their failure may have many reasons beyond my understanding but think the following:
• Church involvement in the higher education industry has diluted their theocratic absurdity. Education clears darkness (ignorance) whereas you need people with blind faith.
• They underestimate the Hindu way of thinking and understanding. If caste system and poverty were everything for conversion from 52 AD till 2022 there would have never been an SC ST scientist, doctors, judges, or Tribal Hindu President in India.
• American physical laboratories and Deepak Chopra has proved that environmental factors such as food, drugs, or exposure to toxins can cause epigenetic changes by altering the way molecules bind to DNA or changing the structure of proteins that DNA wraps around. YOGA too is one such factor that can change its behavioral pattern. We all know Yoga is not a set of exercises alone but a discipline of life that even a downtrodden Hindu follows to his /her extent.
• Hindus have weakened but Hinduism will not.
Examples of YOGIC ANUSHASHANA (अनुशासनम्):
One of the important Anushashon is KULO- DHARMA and this is also one of the reasons why Abrahamic could not “uproot” us in 1200 years of killing and humiliating. Every religion on this earth does pray and observes rituals but no one has the concept of KULODHARMA. We are now suffering because we too started believing KULODHARMA as Humbug or Superstition (this is a most significant achievement of their education industry).
Planned denigration of Hinduism and overt attempt at Proselytism?
It is well known that ever since Om Prakash Tyagi brought the freedom of religion bill to the Indian parliament, Churches stopped changing the name of their new faith harvest. But Thirumurugan Gandhi is a Catholic and Manushya Puthran is a Muslim in Tamil Nadu is really beyond one’s imagination.
