Renunciation, Daʿwah, Inculturation and Varnashram:

Subhas Mitra :   03  June 2023

Tyāga ( त्याग) in Hinduism is “sacrifice, giving up in generosity, forsaking, resigning” anything of value. It is also called “renunciation”. One can give up what one has.

When it comes to Renunciation, one gives up worldly attachments in order to achieve spiritual enlightenment or liberation from the recurring cycle of life, death and rebirth. It is an exercise to prevent growth of desire.

Both of these are individualistic. A group, society, nation (Jati) or country cannot sustain these Tyag & Renunciation. Thus the need for Varnashram Dharma might have been felt to protect the social bond with “collective responsibility” as Swadharma of every member of society.

With the advent of Buddhism, the Renunciation also became REJECTION. They rejected the concept of God, the authorities of Vedas and Varnashram and substantiated social binding with KING and MONK. Monastery thereby became the FIRST ever closely guarded unit of “theocracy” much before the creation of The Pope – Vatican or Ummah.

Hinduism is a Banyan tree which Emperor Asoka FIRST attempted to trim to size (265–238 BCE). With the destruction of Takshashila by Huns in around 499 AD and the entry of Islam in around 640s in Kabul, Buddhism lost the opportunity of expansion by the king. Monks took up the job of WEAKENING Hinduism by DEBATE based on no God, No Vedas and No Varnashram. This means eating the ‘Roots’ of the Banyan Tree with ATHEIST Termites (philosophy) after taking over all the universities/learning centers. Secular and sciences developed uninterrupted.

Hinduism never had any theocratic setup. Brahmins and Kshatriya’s ‘swadharma’ protected the Banyan Tree with the help of Vasyas & Sudras.

God in Duality- non-duality (Advaita and Dvaita), God in Form or formless ( Sakar or Nirakar ) theory of manifestation of God etc., were topics of PhD thesis or Postgraduate debate in the Vedic stream. Buddhism brought it down to the High school level with the camouflage use of their REJECTION as Renunciation. (Later Abrahamic brought it to primary level for easy conversion by confusing Hindus in their own cultural history – The Kerala Story type).

This is Vedic society’s First major “implanted” intellectual confusion (Atheism) in Hinduism.

I, therefore, equate Buddhist “Renunciation” with Christian Inculturation. Didn’t some people say Christ studied Buddhist philosophy in Kashmir for 12 years before returning to Jerusalem? (It is not my topic).

What is inculturation in Christianity is Daʿwah in Islam.

Around the 630s, Islam came to India (Kerala) as Da’wah and 711 Ad as Jihad in Sindh.

Inculturation entered before the 16th century by sea at Surat, Gujarat, but it was ‘finished’ before reaching Bombay. In the 16 century, they came by sea from the Far East (China) to the Southern coastal region for Inculturation and Goa for colonization & Crusade.

Constantine’s Conversion was partly motivated by a vision he experienced at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge in Rome in 312 CE. This was an enormous Inculturation success in the world.

Where is its Origin? (Taken from wiki)

Before his Ascension, Jesus instructed his disciples to spread his teachings to the ends of the earth (Mt 28, 18; Mk 16, 15); Saint Paul’s speech to the Greeks at the Areopagus of Athens (Acts 17:22-33) could be considered as the first inculturation attempt. The speech was not well received by all, according to verse 32: “Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked”.[3] Around 50 A.D., the apostles convened the first Church council, the Council of Jerusalem, to decide whether to include Gentiles and inculturate Gentile culture.[4][5] The Council confirmed that Gentiles could be accepted as Christians without first converting to Judaism. ( I am sure you can name many educated Hindus in this category)

What is an example of inculturation in the Bible?

Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a radical cure for human “nature” (fallen because of sin) and human culture employing grace is an inculturation: “The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (Jn 1:17).

In Christianity, inculturation is the adaptation of Christian teachings and practices to cultures. This is a term that Catholics generally use, whereas Protestants, primarily associated with the World Council of Churches, prefer to use the word “contextual theology”.

Daʿwah as per Wikipedia:

Daʿwah, as the “Call towards God,” is how Muhammad began spreading the message of the Qur’an to humankind. After Muhammad, his followers and the Ummah (Muslim community) assumed responsibility.

They are given in the verse of the al-Quran (an-Nahl 16: 125).

Da’wah is made up of three aspects which are dacie, mad and mawduc  (content) of da’wah. In the mawduc of dakwah, it is explained that it discusses all aspects that relate to da’wah, aqidah (belief) and Syariah (Islamic law).

(One can go through Ex-Muslims sites or YouTube channels for further knowledge)

Major Inculturation projects:

Theosophical Society of India, Brahmo Samaj, Prarthana Samaj, and Self-Respect Movement started by E.V. Ramaswamy Naicker and the South Indian Liberal Federation (Justice Party), founded by Dr C. Natesa Mudaliar, which is now DMK. Yogananda Ashram, RKM etc.

(Jesus as “Son of God” and Jesus as “God incarnate” is the only difference and the differences are significant)

Major Da’wah projects:

Sufism (haram in Saudi Arabia), Kabir Das, Sai Baba and Satya Sai Baba. Lingayat, a Shivaites Ashram of 12th  century, intended to become a new religion in the 1950s ( wave of divide and weaken)  and Dewan Shareif Mullah, 33, was appointed as the pontiff by Murugarajendra Koraneswara Swami of the mutt, located in Astuti village in 2020.

Kerala and W.B.( both highly inculturated) , you can find a lot of interfaith mingling, of which Hindus and Abrahamic are very proud. In Kerala, there are Abrahamic gods/diets worshipped by Hindus in Temples (writes Manu S Pillai in Times of India dated May 08 2023), but alas, you will not find a single Hindu deity in Mosque or Church. I call this inculturation of C R Das and M K Gandhi type. (Reading Bible& Koran in Temple but never Gita in Mosque or Church).

Congress, communists and DMK are a combo pack for Hindu neutralization like KFC chicken.

It must have been this Gulabi Jihad (Da’wah) and Rosy Crusade (Inculturation) that projected KASHI (Varanasi) as Hindu Makkah or the Vatican. Church runs our education system; thus, this aspect is never brought forward, and our commoners never come to know.

This Ignorance of Non-Abrahamic is the biggest asset for Abrahamic expansionism within India without any noise.

Post-2014 moves in Varanasi made me think this way. Thus I visited Varanasi in 2021 to see what the media fed us.

My Varanasi visit:

After my offering to Baba Viswanath (The Principal Deity- Lord Shiva) and taking His blessing, my first project was to find out why EVR did not feel caste discrimination in Tamil Nadu and had to come to Varanasi. Who sent him there?

Atheist never goes on pilgrimage nor do they have caste system like the LGBTQ.

One may read “Brahmin genocide of a different order ……. occurred in Tamil Nadu – written by Sandeep Balakrishna November 04, 2022 17:58:16 IST in First Post.

1.           The gatekeeper of “the Temple” that prevented Periyar EV Ramasway’s “moustache” from going in. This RICH merchant, owner of “E.V. Ramasamy Naicker Mandi” at Erode TN, had to starve for want of free food not given to him because of his caste in 1904. (See yourself https://pmu.edu/centres/pdf/Biographical_Sketch.pdf) . No matter how much caste discrimination exists, can anyone believe such a story without being Inculturated?

2.           Modi is breaking all Hindu temples.

I have yet to learn about Varanasi. Most Hindus know it more than me. But let me touch on some “dots” that will lead you to conclude whether “Church” created the DRAVID. As of now, there is no gatekeeper of any functioning Temples that ask for anyone’s caste. (Out of 3300, thousands gone in “secularism” ( in political India, secularism means destroying Hinduism)  of Qutb-ud-din Aibak and Aurangzeb). Crematorium – SAMSHAN ( Manikarnika ghat), where the funeral pyre never cools off since it is in function, never ask for caste.

FREE food is served to anyone who sits for it of one’s own (no one invites or chases out). Why should I believe a wealthy merchant will starve for want of free food?

3. Hindus and Hinduism stay on either bank of the river Saraswati. Here Saraswati is wisdom which survives on information and knowledge. Hindu’s journey to Hinduism is accomplished only when one can gather necessary/essential information and extract knowledge to enrich insight (wisdom). Hindutva (applied Hinduism) is the ‘Boat’ that can ferry Hindus to and fro. Spirituality with knowledge of the past is the Fuel of the boat, while political, economic and diplomatic shrewdness is its Rudder (कर्ण +कर्णधार ), and  Symbolism & Rituals are Capstan & Anchor.

An Atheist Hindu has no Capstan, anchor or Rudder to anchor somewhere. They are like KFC-dressed live chickens ready for frying (Conversion).

However, I asked the internet, “Since when caste discrimination started in Varanasi”. I referred to Google, wiki, Britannica and JSTOR. Here is my find:

1. Before the British passed the 1936 caste schedule. There had never been caste in administration, but socially, it was very much present. I could not find any “Catholic-Protestant” war of France or “Shia-Sunni” war/clash in Hindu society based on caste or path ( sect) even during Muslim rule, i.e. before EIC (political domination of Church) came to India.

2. In 1616 AD, Christian missionaries started Anti Brahman and anti-Sanskrit propaganda in and around Kashi of South Madurai & Pondicherry. They discovered that destroying Brahmin, Sanskrit, and Varnasharam would only make mass conversion of Europe-America type possible in India.

EVR might have been a golden pick as he told: –

“There is no god, there is no god, and there is no god at all; he who invented God is a fool. He who propagates God is a scoundrel. He who worships God is a barbarian.”

(I do not know if GOD prevented him from food, but Church found no problem with such Atheists. Karunanidhi – Jai Lalitha both encouraged Christian conversion and reservation. Muslims slaughter cows near a Temple, and no one gets arrested. Did EVR think it was because of Varanasi? Have any Hindu atheists ever utter a word against Islam & Christianity. I never came across.

Food habit:

Hindus developed peculiar food system centuries back where one ate meat and the other ate Vegetables. This habit along with manual scavenging introduced by Muslims   might have invited social differences in eating places. Yet I do not know if Temple or Langer serves non-Veg except Ramakrishna Mission.

3. In the Rigveda, Varanasi is referred to as Kāśī (काशी: Kashi-“City of Light”). Scientists gave its age 1800 BCE on Ramnagar finding and 800 BCE on Akhta finding.

Also known as  Avimukta (अविमुक्त: Ānandakānana (आनंदकानन) and Rudravāsa (रुद्रवास🙂

4. Author- Historian Federica Barba writes – Megasthenes came to India in 302 B.C. and visited

Mathura, Ahicchatra, Sankisa, Kanauj, Kausambi, Ayodhya, Sravasti, Kusinagara, Varanasi , Vaisali, Pataliputra, Bodhgaya, Rajagrha, Nalanda, Champa and Tamralipti.  He mentioned SEVEN castes but nowhere found /mentioned discrimination in public life.

5. Vincent A. Smith writes Xuan Zang (Hiuen Tsang) visited India in 635 CE during Harshavardhan, mentioning no caste clash.

6. Chandradeva, founder of the Gahadavala dynasty, made Banaras the second capital in 1090 after the fall of the Pala Empire; the Chero dynasty ruled Varanasi till Mughal rule in 1737.

7. Varanasi has 12 churches and 1,388 Muslim holy places. 1810 First Church came up.CNI made a Church right before our MOKSHDWAR (Viswanath Temple). The site hurts me.

Now let us see how Sanatan Dharma evolved in Varanasi from 528 BCE:

1. Prince Gautam ( not a Brahman) attains Buddha /enlightenment  here –his caste never came on the way in 528 AD

2. In the 8th century, when Adi Shankara established the worship of Shiva as an official sect of Varanasi. He imposed no caste restriction.

3. Varanasi / Kashi is the birthplace of Suparshvanath, Chandraprabhu,  Shreyanshnath and Parshvanath, the  7th, 8th, 11th, and 23rd Tirthankaras — respectively. Who asked their caste?  EVR or M Stalin?

4. Kabir Das (1398-1448 AD), a born local MUSLIM, became a mystic poet and saint whose writings influenced Hinduism’s Bhakti movement, and his verses are found in Sikhism’s scripture Guru Granth, Sahib.

Hindus do not bother about his birth, but I do not know about Muslims.

5. Swami Ramananda, founder of Bairagi Shampradaya  too, was a local who lived in the 14th century.

6. Sant Ravidas or Raidass (1450 CE – 1520) was a born CHAMAR (leatherworker low caste). He was not only a Bhakti Guru, but his work also got a place in Gurugrath Saheb of Sikh. Anantadas Parcai, his biography finds no caste barrier.

7. Goswami Tulsidas (1532–1623) wrote Ramayana in the Awadhi language and named Ram Charit Manas here in Varanasi.

8. Guru Nanak visited Varanasi for Maha Shivaratri in 1507

Conclusion:

Natural disaster, Famine, Pandemic, and poverty are fertile situations for INCULTURITION through which ATHEISM is cultivated and bred. Once a Hindu gets sufficiently Inculturated, they develop a love for MARXISM. The Church may infiltrate first as motivators and then facilitators in Maoist, Kuki, Naga etc.

Mark Twain wrote in 1897 of Varanasi,

“Benares is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together.”

You might know that illiterate, dogmatic, superstitious, ignorant (as per British/Church propaganda) Hindus of 800 to 1800 BCE selected the “city of light “site and in the 8th century “Viswanath Temple” at an Earth Quake Free Zone. {Scientists called it “seismic zone3”, which is a moderate risk area owing to the presence of thick “alluvium” presence that could resist earth quake}. We knew a Tremor of 6.8 RS earthquake in Afghanistan in April 2016 was felt in Delhi, Hardwar, but not in Varanasi.

But what these castists & dumb heads Kafir /Gentile did not know was that the Vedic era’s Ashur, Rakshasa, Danab, and Dashyu would return under a different vocabulary. Our forefathers warned us sufficiently, but we should have paid more attention to them and became modern and later scholars in Persian and English, deserting our forefather’s medium of communication, the Sanskrit.

We thought MODERNISATION was not a process of “evolution” but a “tactic” of climbing by imitating others by disconnecting from roots. अब भुक्तो !.

The Kingdom of Benares was given official status by the Mughals in 1737, the kingdom started in this way and continued as a dynasty-governed area until Indian independence in 1947, but the Muslim ruler of Awadh accepted E.I. Company Rule in India in 1775.

Ungrej o ki Kartut:

On August 15, 1781, Warren Hastings arrived in Varanasi to warn Maharaja Banaras Chet Singh. He was challenged, and it is believed that Hastings had to run away from the battlefield in seminude condition.

Muslim attack:

Muhammad Ghori purchased Qutb-ud-din Aibak as a sex slave at 1000 gold coins, wrote Jafar Zatalli in his GANDUNAMA. Aibak purchased Shams-ud-Din Iltutmish for sex and gave his daughter in marriage. This Gandu attacked the Temple in 1194 and did FIRST “secularism”. The height of the Temple was reduced forever. I do not know how the Temple came up again, but by the 1690s, Aurangzeb did the following “secularism”.

This time our Sages not only jumped into the war field with TRISHUL (Tridents) but made Aurangzeb flee.

Nita Kumar wrote THE ‘TRUTH’ ABOUT MUSLIMS IN BANARAS: An Exploration in School Curricula and Popular Lore. ( one may read)  but I guess fringe living, primarily artisans, became Muslim to escape JIJIYA. The neo-converts refused to join mainstream Islam for a long time. The 1871 census report says that Sikhs & Hindus converted under duress,  refused to call themselves MUSLIM and claimed to be SWADHARMI. They were still marked as Muslims in the census report.

Aurangzeb resorted to forced Conversion and forcefully settled around the Temple after destroying & it before fleeing. My personal impression is no Hindus ever attempted to bring those Muslims back to a native belief system.

From Shah Banu (by Congress 1986) cases onward, there have been radicalizations of local Muslims and resistance by Hindus.

Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project:

Modi is breaking all Hindu temples- a congress campaign.

As you all know, there is nothing to write of the media’s anti-Modi circus. You might have seen the Video Congress published and how The WIRE instigated Muslims and some Hindus whose houses fall in the “TAKE OVER” zone.

Security people were not allowing me to photograph, but when I revealed my identity to a senior, he kept my mobile and asked a junior to show me some area. This is the area where Muslims were forced to settle. I saw :

1. Some Muslim houses were built by taking small temples inside their home.

2. Some temples were being used as shops.

3. Some are still standing isolated, unused, but they did not damage or disarranged, like Pakistan made Hindu Temple as a toilet for tourists in MULTAN (the video was available on Youtube)

4. I saw a temple that was being used as the kitchen.

These Gulabi Jihad and Rosy Crusade are not going to leave us to ourselves until our education system is salvaged from Abrahamic theocracy.
