Muslim architectures in Kerala:

:

Subhas Mitra :   19   April 2024

Time of India published an article on a “Hindu King who gave money and wood for a mosque”. Next days it was posted in SM by TOI- some converted ex-Hindus commented that,

“Now some Hindus may claim the wood and start worshipping”

(Even a donkey can understand what they mean.) They think Muslims first built a Temple and then made a Mosque over it. In Goa how many churches stand on Hindu temples is being researched ( Shefali Vaidya is one).

I pray to secular Hindus of India, particularly Kerala, to convince readers about the following visible puzzles:

(Please note the years carefully- taken from Google and AI Gemini)

1.           The world’s First Mosque the Quba in Medina: 622+ AD but local settlement lived in: Images:

2.           The First Mosque in the subcontinent: Cheraman Juma Mosque Kerala: 632+ AD

a.Thooku Vilakku: That was there till the 1990s as the statesman, Kolkata wrote.

b. Present mosques reflecting Kerala Muslims’s gratitude for King Cheraman even after feeding mango pickle to The Prophet.

3.           The Thazhathangady Juma Mosque: King of Thekkumkoor: 720s AD

4.           Who said that such mosques did nit no have minar?

5.            Let’s see some architecture of Arab from the rise of Islam to 1937;

6.           The Black Stone of Mecca wasn’t broken by a single person, but rather damaged in two historical events:

7.           683 CE: During the Umayyad Caliphate’s siege of Mecca, a catapult attack struck the Black Stone, shattering it into pieces [Wikipedia: Black Stone].

8.           930 CE: The Qarmatians, an Ismaili Shia sect, stole the Black Stone and held it for ransom for 23 years. The stone was further damaged during its removal and return [Wikipedia: Black Stone].

9.           Same Muslims who came to Kerala become such the finest architects?

10.         See Bengal Muslim architects of Malda (ancient Gaur kingdom)

Now that we have seen reasonable evidence of architectural differences, I have the following observations to share with my friends on SM.

Abrahamic Kerala, a historical background: (dates from Britannica):

6000 BC – Sarasvati River dies: Saraswat Brahman migrates to Palestine & also Kerala.

2000 BC – Moses comes down with commandments

0-1         AD – Jesus arrives as son of God

570 AD – Prophets arrive as God’s messenger

Now look at the Islamic Central and Middle East map and think about its history and its religious demography (exclude Druze and Yezidi as they are too negligible).

Then come to Kerala:

52 AD – Middle brother (St. Thomas) came to convert Heathens/ Gentiles of India.

52 AD – 7th century: Elder brother (Jews) came along (Followed by)   Syrian Christians for shelter from the atrocities of both brothers.

632 AD – Younger Brother arrives to convert Kefirs of India without using a sword.

1789: –  Secularism of Tipu Sultan’s sword. What was the Muslim percentage then? ( I could not find).

Kerala’s loss of Hindu demography:

•            1901 Kerala had over 70%+,

•            1951 – 62%

•            2011: Hindu: 54.73 %, Muslim: 26.56%, Christian: 18.38 %, Rest: 0.33%

This shows Hindu’s Resilience is not cowardice, just waiting for leadership.

But the delay has been prolonged by Made -in-England Hindu version of AHIMSA ( M K Gandhi), EQUALITY (BR Ambedkar) (ATHEISM (EVR-CPI ) and SECULARISM ( JL Nehru) made Hindus voluntarily invite genetic decay only to become “GOOD Person” in the eyes of our Abrahamic Colonial Masters.

Kerala, Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kashmir are at the forefront of producing the highest number of such designer’s “GOOD people”.

Kerala through my eyes :

I have lived in Kerala as a young solder, visited as a tourist (Kovalam) and again on pilgrimage (FOUR divine sites).

  •  Except for the radicals, fanatics, goons and terrorists, people are very friendly liberal and broadminded just like Kolkata Bhadroloks.

A reference:

Parameswaran Thankappan Nair, the storyteller of Kolkata who lived in the city for 64 years and wrote extensively, believes Kerala was the resting place for Bengal Saudagars (en route to Sri Lanka & Arab). He has counted many similarities in the thoughts of these two people. Both languages have strong Sanskrit vocabularies in use that bind them. (Writes time of India). He wrote about the arrival of Armenians and other Jews in Kolkata.

  • Go to a beef serving eatery you will find no difference among customers on religious line.
  •  Then go to a Pork serving one you will not find a single Muslim
  • see how brad-minded people are.
  • If a neighbour’s housewife visits a Hindu household with a copy of their holy book (s) in hand and after chipping a cup of grinding coffee starts abusing Hindu deities and idolatry, no Hindu dare to object if there is Congress or Communists or league party office nearby. Want to know why?

“India Beyond Narratives” says   that:

·Congress Party (1885),

·Muslim  League(1906) ,

·Justice Party DMK  (1917 ) &

·Communist Party of India (1925) – these four are 4 different manifestations of ONE grand objective- “destroy Hinduism from within with Hindu consent”.

(Follow activities and read manifestos-2024 Gen Election  of all these parties to confirm how they want to be “good Indians” in the eyes of China, George Soros, Barak Obama, Harvard etc.)

Here is secularism in Hindu Temples:

Kerala as I see: Statistic image

Such a state has not developed overnight.

Its background goes back to 52 AD.

The Apostle Thomas landed in Muziris (Cranganore or Kondungallore, north of Cochin) on the Kerala coast and

  1. He was eliminated  in Mylapore, near Madras, Tamil Nadu in AD 72.  – Taken from wiki.
  2. The first Catholic European missionary to arrive in India at Surat in around 1320 was Catalan Dominican missionary, Jordanus Catalani. – He too was liquidated near Thane in Maharashtra before converting even one. (India Beyond Narrative –Page -40)

(Note how uncivilized Hindus were in the eyes of Abrahamic invaders- They knew how to protect themselves)

Notes:

  • According to Pope Benedict XVI, however, the area St Thomas evangelized was not south India, but what he called “western India,” corresponding roughly to Pakistan today.”

Is there any evidence of St. Thomas coming to India?

  • There is no contemporary evidence showing that Thomas had been in the subcontinent, but it was possible for an Aramaic-speaking Jew from Galilee to make such a trip to Kerala in the 1st century. The Cochin Jews are known to have existed in Kerala around that time.

Why Brahmins in Kerala converted to Christianity?

  • St. Thomas threw water in the name of Jesus and it stood still in the air and glittered like a diamond. Because of this experience, seven Nambudury accepted Christianity.
  • The rest left the place saying that they would do their rituals from then on at Vembanattu.

Stories of Conversion :

Here is another version from Keralolpathi literally “Kerala’s Origin”  a Malayalam work :

Once King Cheraman Perumal was walking on the balcony of his palace. He witnessed the moon splitting into two and joining back again. Bewildered, he consulted a few astrologers It is beyond imagination astrologers with believe in split moon) , who confirmed that such an event had indeed occurred and was not a mystical experience.

He renounced the throne, divided up the Kingdom and set sail to Mecca to meet the miracle man.

The converted Perumal was returning to Kerala, but he died when he was near Syria. (Why he had to go to Syria from Makkah to come to Kerala? )

Was he the last King of the dynasty?  Source says no. The last King from that dynasty was Rama Kulashekara who indeed converts to Islam as atonement as he killed his minister Padavila Nair, wrongly on wife’s insistence. Here is another new puzzle.

But the first King of the Cheraman Dynasty was Sthanu Ravi Varma, who ruled from 844 to 870 AD. Rama Kulashekara was the last ruler who ruled between 1089-1122 AD and we all very well know Mohammad, the Prophet lived between 571-632 AD. There is a chronological difference.

A Hindu king change religion for atonement and  seven Brahmin converted by seeing water miracle.

How do we take such stories?

What does History say?

Nambuduris are Saraswat Brahmin displaced after the death of the Saraswati River. When we add GAUR then it was ancient to medieval Bengal (Malda in WB and Rajshahi in Bangladesh). There was an outwards migration of these Brahmins for Gaur during the early Pal Dynasty (750 AD….) and later 1203 AD Muslim attacks. Did they go to Kerala??? I do not know.

  • Those who did not change for over 6000 yrs, converted by seeing water magic? – I prefer to be a donkey than buying this theory.

Then came, Muslim Missionaries:

It is well known that Muslims came to Kerala not with a sword but with a mission to convert Dar–Ul–Harab to Dar- Ul- Islam through “Peace”. It is also said that Islam was the ‘religion of peace’ for 13 years till its arrival at Medina (622 AD.)

  • It is believed that Islamic warriors either with swords or the Koran were instructed not to accept culture or etiquette from the land they occupied or entered for Islamizing,
  • On the contrary:  they were encouraged to do or behave opposite of what local people did or behaved.

This was not what pre-Islamic Arab merchants did. Islam reached the Far East through Arab merchants, particularly to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Southern tip of Thailand by immigration.

  •  Probably because of which after Princess Ayu of Indonesia, the royal family reverted from Islam to Hinduism followed by ex PM’s daughter without any communal tension.

Islamic Arabic and classic Arabic language became separate. In India, before Urdu became a language (1837) Muslims used the local languages after sufficiently corrupting it besides infusing Islamic, Arabic & Persian vocabulary.

Architectures of Arab and Islam:

1.           Cheraman Juma Mosque:

Arab ‘Ulama’ will adapt Kerala architecture for peaceful preaching of Islam is difficult to accept. Perhaps to convert the Chera king they accepted a TEMPLE to be used as Mosque. This truth is now hidden even in the wiki but I have seen it in wiki after Y2K or so. I came to know this from the statesman daily of Kolkata in 1989-90s when M J Akbar used to edit their weekly magazine The Sunday.

  • Shashi Tharoor calls it a Mosque but admits to Sanjiv Sanyal that it was a donated Temple (YouTube available).
  • Islam has Da’wah , which has SIX types of halaal DECEPTIONs. Just type “Law of Abrogation in Quran” on Google search to know details.
  •  Under “Al Taqiya” anything is possible but it has to be strictly temporary till you gain demographic advantage.( Kerala has enough)

2.           Muslim heritage of Thazhanthangadi.

The Juma Masjid at the banks of the Meenachil River was built during 720s AD as per a report published in TOI, 7 Apr 2024 by one Nair taking reference from historian M G Sasidharan. It claims the Hindu king provided the wood and Muslims built it.

  • Which way the architecture can be called ARAB?
  • Could it be that the building has been donated to Muslims and Muslims are generously acknowledging it as heritage?

Why do I say so?

1.           Mosques and Churches in India are preferably built in a place where it could be visible to maximum Gentile/kefir. For that, they can go to the Hills of Ayappa or Thirupathy or near famous Temples and nearly. Rivers or Ponds have no relevance.

2.           Akampalli and Purampalli: I do not know what it means but Mosques have one hall and the Makkah direction is the Mihrab and the Minbar منبر; It is truly their generosity that they have not changed the language. Do they use Malayalam for بة, khutbah?  In Bengal – NO.

3.           Malik Bin Dinar an Arab built a Church there in the 720s. In 720s AD what was happening in Arab? Both religions were vying for dominance, and there were frequent periods of conflict. Wiki may be whitewashed but we can get books from archive, JSTOR or academia. Here in India, they were constructing a Church for those who were being massacred in Syria / Alexandria. ???

4.            “Mukkuty Saaksha” security system in Mosque???Why and how they were accepted during construction. We heard of such security systems including locks when the IAS administrator P. George (not real name) ordered to opening of the Vaults of the Padmanavaiya Temple before its custody was given to the Royal family by Supreme Court interference (2007 to 2020, a secularism in India).

How sad, I do not know how many secular, liberal and tolerant Churches and Mosques in Kerala have Hindu administrators.

5.           Please see some architecture of Arabs in those days and till 1937 (available online). https://www.ancient-origins.net/news-history-archaeology/islamic-stone-0010774
