Does democracy kill?
The answer is: No. But
Democracy is sweet. It makes individuals happy and satisfied, as they can exercise their power of will.
Perhaps the clash of interests of the contenders of the “Power to Rule” or their difference in the “philosophy of ruling” gave birth to the concept of democracy. Under democracy, contenders i.e. successors of the monarch or conqueror (for the USA it was the conqueror’s successors) need not fight to prove their might, instead, their subjects/citizens are given the power to choose a ruler.
Here comes the role of the contenders to “extract” public opinion.
- 600 BCE at Vaishali, opinion formation was based on obligation or duties as per Dharma ( Dharma, Artha, Kama for Moksha here Moksha means “the Goal”, a ruler of the choice)
- 1788–1789 in the USA: Opinion formation was based on Rights and entitlements rulers could offer in exchange for their support.
Democracy is sweet like ‘sugar’ or sweetmeats. Sugar can provide a quick source of energy for the body because the body uses glucose from sugar to create energy. When you eat sugar, your “pancreas” releases insulin to help your body use the glucose.
Sugar can also help with “mood regulation” by increasing dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that can create a temporary mood boost and feelings of happiness and well-being. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and behaviour.
However, eating too much sugar can lead to cravings because the brain needs more and more sugar to get the same feeling of pleasure.
Origin of democracy:
Before the internet era, we were taught in schools/colleges that Abraham Lincoln’s by the people, for the people was the beginning of democracy since Vedas were by far unknown in education curriculum beyond Oxford/ Cambridge. Vedic knowledge or Indic knowledge had no voice during British India. Till 2014 it was getting places in Hindu society but was finding difficulties getting in academic circles because of the shield created by AMU, JNU etc.
Ever since it became available on the internet there was something called” JANAPAD” in Bharat which meant people’s feet. Janapada is a term that appears in the Aitareya (8.14. 4) and Shatapatha (13.4. 2.17) Brahmana texts.
I am not a scholar to find fault in wiki but I find ample reasons for Govt. of India to tighten them. One can go to the wiki and find comedy shows on History:
- Father of democracy: Cleisthenes of Greece. 508–507 BC was established democracy in Athens.
2. Mather of Modern Democracy: George Washington, the father of modern democracy (1732 – 1799)
3. What we learnt from our schools: Abraham Lincoln (1809 – 1865) said, “Democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people”.
4. Fonder of democracy in India: B R Ambedkar
5. Mother of India democracy: Mother India ( Bharat Matha)
These all are FIRST while in their own admission, PANCHALA Mahajanapada of Bharat practiced democracy between 1500 to 500 BCE.
(I am not competent to find fault but let me return to my point)
Why democracy?
Democracy in India was to ensure that the NRIPATI (governor of the people or King/emperor or the ruler etc.) remains in touch with his subjects and cannot turn to a dictator. Those rulers were mere custodians of the kingdom and ruled under the guidance of his/her RAJGURU, the royal scholar. Under the existing system of the time any one of the two could overrule one another but under people’s participation that was not possible.
- Vaishali: The Vishal kingdom ( today’s Bihar) was the capital of a JANAPADA who opted for a democratically elected ruler rather than a monarchy in 600 BC. It is the world’s first republic (wiki). Vaishali is the capital of the Vajji people. A king in an aristocratic republic ruled it.
- Kusinara (Kushinagara) and Pava (Gorakhpur): the capital of the “Mallas” people who were patrons of the arts and architecture and followed Hindu code. The Mallas were originally “Maithili” and were known for the Maithili language, which had equal rights to Sanskrit in the court of the Mallas. While “Mithila” is disputed between Janakpur (in Nepal) and Baliraajgadh or Madhubani in Bihar.
- Gautam Buddha and Mahavir Swami both not only attained Nirvana in Malla but this was the epicentre of the Hindu-Buddha ideological churning and clash of cultural identity separation. It became a Buddhist and Jain socio-cultural laboratory before they began forming separate kingdoms. Present-day districts of Janakpur (Nepal), Siddarthnagar, Gorakhpur, Madhubani, Basti, and Deoria of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
These “Ahimsa centres” subsequently fell to Muslims.

Note:
After 1500 BCE, this democracy of 600 BCE had an interesting junction of philosophical conflict. It was:
God versus no God.
Vedas versus no Vedas,
Theism versus Atheism,
Moksha versus Nirvana.
The concept of Swadharma & Swabarna was to become redundant.
Earning by Swadharma was to be replaced by begging Alms for a living.
Dharma was to reshape into Dhamma.
Buddha became an Avatar of Vishnu.
We can easily imagine which level of socio-cultural turmoil the people of Magadha were undergoing. We cannot overrule the possibility of Projecting Buddha as a Vishnu Avatar was the beginning of the APPEASEMENT Policy to get the reluctant or rebel Hindus i.e. Buddhists / Jains Hindu side without battles. If it is so, the process is still in practice.
Example:
- Bal Thackeray’s son batting for Waqf Board for a vote.
- Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s “Hindu Homeland” is on the verge of slipping to Ummah.
Vaishali-Mitheli was to face Magadha’s take over under such a turbulent time. Democracy might have been a means to avoid the use of Kshatriya Dharma (war). Buddhism owned the intellectual debate and public acceptability. AHIMSA engulfed Hinduism.
From Gandahar, and Takshashila to Brahma Desha (Myanmar) or “Suvarnabhumi (including Siam or Thailand) wherever Buddhist Ahimsa rule are today Muslim countries.
Sanskrit came under attack and the disintegration of the Indic think tank began.
Subsequently British manufactured an angel of Ahimsa and the country of Hindus became SECULAR under a camouflaged Muslim.
The modern democracy:
With the arrival of Moses and Christ, the democracy of Greece went with the wind. But people’s movement started from the “River Nile” parting and Land of Milk & Honey forms but the Roman rulers did not spare it.
Jesus’s movement was also of the people’s movement but through The POPE it turned to the Rulers movement. Democracy evaporated.
1491 AD Columbus reached America and historians tell us that he was given reception as a GUEST. Devil’s Books were burnt; the native population was brought to be negligent as Caucasians were imported in mass and each group formed their states.
July 4, 1776, the USA formed where the conquerors declared themselves owners (and the owners were…?). It was called Independence (you know from whom).
English became their state language by only ONE vote.
They knew the value of vote and power.
How this democracy came to India:
It was introduced without bloodbath and massacre of these Indians as they did to Red Indians.
How?
It was a long process and huge brain work and strategies. Here, we must recognize how they closely studied /followed the subcontinental cultural bond that kept people together for over 10 thousand years despite there being no
Heavenly Commandments( as Book )or
Sending son or messenger.
Targeting Religious belief or faith was their expertise but Hinduism came to them as a Headless Hydra. They could not locate a HEAD so they could not kill. Therefore conversion became the best weapon. The entire Middle East and Central Asia – both Cross and Crescents walked together and owned the match. In the Indian subcontinent, Congress and Muslim league played the same game with cousin DMK & Communists as catalysts.
Next to ‘headless hydra’ another linking point became Sanskrit, I mean linguistic unity. 1000s of languages across the land accepted Sanskrit as mother. After Vaishali / Maitheli / Mithila, Sanskrit again came under attack in Calcutta and used Tamil as a sword to kill Sanskrit in southern Bharat.
By 1927 they discovered Languages of the North Eastern part of India did not have many similarities with Sanskrit but it has properties that resemble Far Eastern languages. Then convinced one of their pet Hindus, the biological son of a Muslim and jumped in to convert and create New Languages out of every dialect spoken there with Roman script as did Muslims in the western part of India with Persian script.
Here in the subcontinent they engaged Christian missionaries and gave them the education system to break native culture to the ground. Then formed a Christian club (named Congress) where elite English-speaking Hindus (well treated by missionaries) were invited & later became a political party. Some Muslims too came close, so formed a League for them. Still the result was not satisfactory so they started atheist separatism in the South and formed a Justice party (DMK). Thereafter came the nation theory (developed to justify the partition of Ireland) and Communism before launching democracy.
It is well known who formed democracy in the USA and what role the Native people had played but in real India, they (British or Church) allowed native Bharatiyas to select from the FOUR “Trojan Horses “of their.
Whenever the “native people” raised their heads (Hindu Samaj, Arya Samaj, Hindu Mahasabha to BJP) the soldiers from the Trojan horses checked and decimated them.
Launching democracy in India:

Non-converted Indians achieved these by choosing their community leaders (1935-46) and 1971.
As I started calling democracy sweetmeats ( Mithai मिठाई – confectionary), we should know how sweet can kill people.
Make your Pancreas sick, it will stop the secretion of Insulin, sweet will kill you.
Damage the Adrenal gland and the Hypothalamus, your brain will stop secreting Dopamine and sweets will make you psycho.
Before the constitution and election process started in free India choosing leaders by election was begun by the British separately for Hindus and Muslims while Christians formed their own party called Congress which the Muslims projected as a Hindu party.
(In fact, Hindus could not protect their party (s) from Trojan horses and thus had no political party till BJP came into existence with TWO members in free India’s parliament).
Till 2014 majoritarian was the essence of democracy but after 2019 BJP won, and the Majority became harmful to democracy.

Remembering “Jogen Mandal” the Pakistani Law Minister.
Sweet poisons:
Why non-converted Indians should eat democratic sweets and be happy and energetic? Let their Pancreas (demography) get damaged by importing enemies from elsewhere. Why they should enjoy sweets? Let‘s damage the Brain Gglands get damaged (by increasing greed and lethargy/ inaction) by bribing voters with dole and schemes that make them reluctant to work.
Let non-converted Indians be divided by favouring one and depriving the other so that occupying forces and their agents can regain control.
